Springtime brings out the tourists, which reminds me…..

A few years ago I thought I’d play tourist in my own city. I set out to
photograph some of the iconic buildings around town.

Here’s a sampling……

THE MAN

I also dug out a shot of The Man. Which is what we often call our dog.
His real name is Wilkie.

For any of you who haven’t checked out the “about drool” link,
I’m copying it here because this is how I feel today:

Here’s a quote from the protagonist in Fredrico Fellini’s great
film: 8 1/2. The character is a movie director who has built a
big, expensive set but doesn’t know why. Doesn’t know how to
proceed. Just doesn’t know.

“I thought my ideas were so clear. I wanted
to make an honest film. No lies whatsoever.
I thought I had something so simple to say.
Something useful to everybody. A film that
could help bury forever all those dead things
we carry within ourselves. Instead, I’m the one
without the courage to bury anything at all.
When did I go wrong? I really have nothing to
say, but I want to say it all the same.
