TransAmerica Pyramid + (more) OUT TAKES

TransAmerica Pyramid

It was an overcast morning in San Francisco (of course).

I woke up early, like I usually do when I travel to work. Nerves.

My hotel was a 20 minute walk from the TransAmerica Pyramid,
a building I’ve been fascinated by since I was a kid watching the
opening sequence of “The Streets of San Francisco” on TV. So I
thought I’d go take a look at it.

As I walked towards the building I took pictures.

Here’s that building, here’s that walk…..

(more) OUT TAKES

Been working hard shooting crack addicts. Personal project.

When you spend a bunch of time shooting the same thing you
get the opportunity to try different approaches…..hoping that
some will work better than what you’ve done so far. Or at least
add some complexity or the possibility to edit the project in a
different way.

One nite, out on the corner where I’m shooting these, I thought
I’d shoot some close-ups. So I did (shoot some close-ups). I kind
of like them but they don’t fit in at all with the rest of the project.
Plus, they just don’t represent what I’m trying to do down on the
corner where this whole project is being shot. (To see the final results
you’ll have to come to the exhibition of this work, in November. I’ll
keep you posted on that.)

But, in the spirit of drool, of throwing up out takes, failures,
also-rans and so on……here are two of those close-ups (which,
to recap, I kinda like but definitely don’t fit in with the project):
